Personal Finance and Financial Literacy | On-Going Class

Welcome to Personal Finance and Financial Literacy! 

Managing our own money doesn’t need to be scary - and together we will overcome every challenge that your leaner faces. 

This class is perfect for parents who would like to outsource personal finance instruction, or do not necessarily feel comfortable teaching the material. I will meet your learner where they are academically and guide them through the material at a pace that is comfortable to them. 

APPROACH.
My approach to teaching personal finance and financial literacy is keeping the material fun and interactive. I don’t like to lecture - instead preferring to engage the students and make them invested in the material. 

SUPPLIES. 
I have digital copies of personal finance textbooks, so I am prepared to start at any topic and guide your learner the rest of the way! I also have my own resources, so I am also happy to guide the content and tailor to your learner's needs.

EXPERIENCE. 
I have taught maths, accounting & finance for over a decade, and am a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. I also have two decades of experience in the homeschool / home educated community. 

PERSONAL FINANCE AND FINANCIAL LITERACY
This on-going course is appropriate for age ranges 11 to 18. Personal finance is a very broad topic, so there will be multiple topics of discussion. Examples of topics we will cover include:

- Week of Monday 25th November - Financial jargon
- Week of Monday 2nd December - Taxes
- Week of Monday 9th December - Investments
- Week of Monday 16th December - The time value of money
