In this one time class, students will learn the insider tips and tricks for making perfect chocolate covered strawberries! We will learn how to properly melt chocolate and handle the chocolate safely. We will learn how to do a drizzle technique and add additional toppings if desired! During class I like to start with a short introduction of all learners and myself, review needed materials and ingredients, and then dive into the recipe. Chocolate Covered Strawberries Ingredients: 1 pint strawberries, washed and COMPLETELY dried before class, try to set out at room temperature for at least 30 minutes beforehand About 1 package of chocolate almond bark 1 small package pink, white, or red candy melts (found in most big box stores baking aisles) Optional: Students may add additional toppings to their strawberries if desired. Ex. Themed sprinkles, shredded coconut, chopped nuts, etc Materials: **MICROWAVE ACCESS REQUIRED** 1 medium sized microwave safe bowl 1 small microwave safe bowl 2 rubber spatulas 2 forks Sheet pan lined with wax paper OR silicone baking mat Oven mitts or pot holders for handling bowls in microwave Clean hands and surface for working Optional: Apron, chef's hat, paper towels or towels for any spills or messes
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Allergen warning* During class we may use recipes that contain, milk, nuts, wheat, eggs, etc. Parental guidance** Depending on your learner's skillset and knowledge, some assistance may be necessary, we will be using a microwave during class to melt the chocolates as needed.
