Parents should note that while the content of this course (and the books) is considered age-appropriate for 9-13 year olds, it involves discussions around Greek myths that may feature intense scenarios and themes of bravery, sacrifice, and the nuances of good versus evil. We encourage parents to familiarize themselves with the Percy Jackson series to understand the class content better and to feel free to discuss any concerns with the teacher. This involvement will help ensure the class aligns with each family's values and expectations and support the child's learning experience. The class will cover specific books and themes within the series, and there may be spoilers for those who haven't read all the books. Overall, this class offers a fantastic opportunity for young readers to deepen their understanding of a popular series while enhancing their critical thinking and discussion skills in a respectful and engaging educational environment. Below are my more general classroom rules and policies. These will also be explained to students when we begin class! -For everyone's safety, and to ensure an engaging and social experience, 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀, 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.
