This is a 3-Day Course. Students will meet 3 times in a week to complete Part 1. This 3-day course provides students with a solid foundation in drawing the human face and figure. Through a series of guided lessons and practice sessions, students will learn essential skills needed to accurately capture the human face and figure, making it perfect for beginners eager to improve their artistic abilities. Week 1Lesson 1Day 1: Basic Facial Proportions and Features• Learn about the basic materials needed (sketchbook, pencils, erasers). • Introduction to basic facial proportions. • Draw a face using guidelines for placement.Lesson 2Day 2: Drawing The Human Figure• Introduction to body proportions and the basic structure of the human figure. • Draw a full body figure using head-to-body ratio and basic shapes. • Understand how to place limbs with correct proportions.Lesson 3Day 3: Combining Face and Figure in Gesture Drawing• Introduction to gesture drawing and its importance in capturing movement and fluidity. • Practice drawing complete figures with a focus on proportion and correct placement of facial features. • Practice using hatching, cross-hatching, and stippling.
- Students will learn the drawing techniques for capturing proportions, facial features, body structure, and dynamic poses.
Teacher Ang is a professional artist and 3D Modeler. She earned her BFA in Animation from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Aside from working as a Freelance Gameplay Animator and 3D Artist, she loves encouraging her students’ curiosity and helping them develop a passion for art. She strives to teach students skills that can bring their voices and ideas to reality. She believes that by building a foundational skill set, her students will be able to approach their artworks with new perspectives. Grading
Frequency: Available upon requestDetails: An E-Certificate of Completion with grades will be provided for learners who have completed all sessions and actively participate in class activities, including sharing their work at the end of each meeting. Learners who miss more than 2 meetings or do not participate in showing their work may not be eligible to receive the certificate.
