Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In this weekly, ongoing book club, students will gather together to hear read aloud and then discuss an Ordinary People Who Changed The World children’s picture book biography. Each week there will be a different book read and discussed. Students can join in for the book club featuring the books they want to read! Students will have ample opportunities to share their own thoughts and perspectives about the books.

Parental Guidance
The author approaches topics such as racial tensions and women’s rights in a very tactful way. Parents are always encouraged to read the books beforehand.
Supply List
Students may wish to have a copy the book for the class, whether purchased or a library book, but it is not necessary for this class. They are worth owning!

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

As a history buff myself, I was on the hunt for historical biographies for very young children. I wanted something in story or picture book form. When I found these, I knew I’d struck gold. I have personally read and discussed every single one of these books with my kindergartener. She requests them to be re-read again and again. They are outstanding.
