Class experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Students will gain skills in the following areas:

- public speaking
- sharing thoughts and insights
- building vocabulary
- knowledge of historical people and events
- exploring the character qualities necessary for being a world changer
- understanding where the character studied is on the timeline of history
As a history buff myself, I was on the hunt for historical biographies for very young children. I wanted something in story or picture book form. When I found these, I knew I’d struck gold. I have personally read and discussed every single one of these books with my kindergartener. She requests them to be re-read again and again. They are outstanding.
Homework Offered
Before class, student is encouraged to read the book we will be discussing, or listen to the audiobook.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered

Grades Offered
Students may wish to have a copy the book for the class, whether purchased or a library book, but it is not necessary for this class. They are worth owning!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The author approaches topics such as racial tensions and women’s rights in a very tactful way. Parents are always encouraged to read the books beforehand.
