Beginner Level
Have you recently gotten a puppy or are expecting to soon? In this 4-week course, learners will learn how to train and care for their new puppy. We will discuss appropriate collars, leashes, and supplies for a new puppy. Learners will be introduced to the techniques of potty training and how to control aggressive puppy behaviors such as biting and chewing. Learner will learn to train their puppy to do basic commands such as sit, give/drop, come when called, and how to walk a puppy on a leash. They will also learn how to get their puppy how to keep their puppy calm when left alone.

Feeding, Potty training, Socialization, and Equipment
My Lesson is about feeding, potty training, socializing and equipment/supplies needed for your new puppy.
Lesson 2:
"Gotcha Game"
My Lesson is about how to get your dog comfortable putting on his leash and collar.
Lesson 3:
Walking nicely on a leash
My Lesson is about teaching my puppy to walk nicely on a leash.
Lesson 4:
Free from aggression toward people and other puppies
My Lesson is about keeping your dog from chewing, biting and barking.
Other Details
Learning Needs
Class will support learning needs using visuals, videos and clear instructions. Teacher is a previous elementary school teacher and current professional dog trainer.
Parental Guidance
Puppies are immature unpredictable and may not always respond to training techniques quickly. Short training sessions suggested. Younger puppies may train in shorter sessions than the class length. Children and dogs should be supervised always.
Pre-Requisites
This class is intended for children who have no experience with new puppies.

California Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
2 Degrees
Master's Degree in Education from Walden University
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Cal State University of Fullerton
Teacher is a certified dog trainer, and an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator. She teaches AKC STAR Puppy classes at the local parks and recreation and has her own private dog training business.
