Hello Learners, This is a 4 week flex class. No live classes. You might ask why choose a flex class? Your learner could complete the class at a time that is best for them during the day of the week, rather than try to rearrange their schedule for a particular day and time that the class has been set. Your learner doesn’t have to finish the recipe within the set time of a live class and feel rushed or feel like their waiting, on their peers, they could easily pause the video, if needed or take extra time to finish up. In a live video setting students could find they are going quicker or much slower than their peers. Each week learners are to think about an ingredient that they think might be good to add to the treat we are making that week. This will be fun and can be thought of as a scavenger hunt, what ingredient or topping can you find in your panty or think would be good to add to our treat? It could be sparkly sprinkles, edible glitters or maybe a change in color or extract. You could also make it a team collaboration with your peers. I can’t wait to see all your creatively all in the comfort of your kitchen. Remember you are the designer at the end of the day! I will reply to the posts with comments, suggestions, tips, and encouragement to keep the students motivated and engaged in the course. First week: Students will bring 7-12 pre-baked cupcakes or store bought cupcakes/muffins. I will go over how to fill your piping bags and color your icing. Then the decorating begins. Second week: They will learn how to melt their chocolate and dip strawberries and drizzle with options to add sprinkles. Third week: They will learn to make drop sugar cookies. Fourth week: They will be making cracker toffee candy, with sprinkles and so many different options for toppings. I have listed the classes in that order, allowing them to build upon their confidence in the coming weeks with their party treats, in their kitchen with me guiding them via pre-recorded videos each week and by them asking questions within the classroom. Students will introduce themselves by post, they could also post a picture or video to introduce themselves to their peers, as this is a flex class and NO LIVE VIDEOS, will be posted. You will ask questions to get to know your peers and correspond in the classroom. I will be available to answer questions throughout the day. I do teach live classes, so if I don’t respond right away, I’m not ignoring you, it is possible I’m in a class. Most of my teaching is done by 5:00 pm. Pacific Time. I’m in California. I can’t wait to see your beautiful masterpieces you all create. I will give individual feedback on your photos or video which ever form you choose to post. Once done learners will be able to share their beautiful masterpiece with the class and family and friends. If you’re wondering if those are my pictures and work, they are. I can’t wait to meet you in your kitchen! Happy Decorating, Sweet T’s Edible Art Classes 🧁🎂
