In this introductory earring making class, students will create their own beaded dangling earrings and learn about the tools, tips and tricks, and skills required for growing jewelers to discover their creative voice. Students will learn how to use professional jewelry pliers and cutters to secure beads onto wire and dangle them from elegant earring hooks. The class will also review how to consider different designs and how to apply the skills learned in this class to other fields of jewelry making. After just this one class, students will have the knowledge and power to continue creating beautiful jewelry for years to come! Send me a message to ask about booking at a time that works best for you and all of the students. This class is designed for students ages 9-13 years old, with 6-12 students participating in class. Please feel free to ask about any special requests you need for your group. What to expect when you sign up for this class: • The class outline is for students to make two different styles of earring pairs within the class time, and students are given additional ideas at the end of class for more designs to experiment with. • Students will learn the most important skills of earring making so that they can continue creating new earring designs long after our class together. • Each step of creating our earrings is carefully explained, and within each step students can work at their own pace. • Class sizes are kept small to ensure that all enrolled students receive personalized attention and instruction, helping every growing jeweler excel. • Students are asked to keep their microphone off so that everyone can hear instructions clearly, but we also turn our mics on throughout the class to share thoughts, answer questions, and share our work. • If students need more time to complete a project even as class time is coming to a close, students will have the choice to stay a few minutes longer to finish their work. There's no rush when creating art! Highlights of This Class: • This class is for any student who has a passion for getting started or getting better at jewelry making. No previous experience is required! • As the instructor, I have two cameras up: a regular face camera and a second close-up camera on my hands so that students can see the close-up details of every step. • Students are guided and supported every step of the way to reach their goals. • Students are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and share their work with one another as we create together!
