Parts of Speech Made Simple

In this 4 week class, students will learn much needed grammar through pictures and fun activities. We will focus on Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Adverbs, Conjunctions, Interjections, and Prepositions. Once enrolled students will receive the first week's handouts. The assignments will be completed in class, so there is not much that needs to be done at home. Students will create a picture for each of the 8 parts of speech, which is a great visual/notes to take away after this class, to help them remember each one.
Before class starts, students should look for a few photos for the first class (optional). We will learn about Nouns and Verbs in our first class. Look for photos that have people, places, or things in it (Nouns) and pictures that show action (Verbs), preferably with the child in the picture, but they do not have to be.  (Action examples - swimming, dancing, singing, jumping, running, surfing, sleeping, playing, etc. - anything that shows action)  We will need these by the first class, the second class at the latest. Kids enjoy having fun sharing and participating in this activity while learning about Nouns & Verbs. If they do not want to show pictures, they do not have to, this is optional. They can bring 2 photos - 1 for Nouns and 1 for Verbs.  
We will also create a poster for each of the 8 parts of speech and play fun games, to help us master these important skills. This is a really interactive, enjoyable class. I promise it will be the most fun you can have learning Grammar :)
