Hi there! Thank you for considering this session to bring out your child's creativity. I am really excited to offer this session. Quilling is a great pastime activity and you'll get hooked once you start. Wonderful jewelry, greeting cards, refrigerator magnets and many more can be made without burning a hole in your wallet. During this class, students will learn to make a card that can be used for various occasions. This is an introductory session, we will create some easy shapes and make a card. Students will be quilling as I teach/demonstrate. All you need is strips of paper, glue and a quilling tool (optional) or a toothpick. Previous quilling experience or knowledge is not required. Thank you again for your consideration! Excited to meet you soon!
Learning Goals
The learners will be able to focus and improve their fine motor skills and creativity. Learners are free to experiment with different width paper strips and to form various shapes.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Students might need parental supervision for cutting paper or while using scissors.
Supply List
- Paper quilling strips - Slotted quilling tool - Glue (school glue is enough) - Pencil or markers - Scissors - Construction paper (2 sheets - 1 stick the coil/shapes on to and the other to make the card base) - Ruler (optional) For paper quilling strips, you can either buy or make by cutting multiple strips of desired width. You may choose 3mm(commonly used) or 5mm width strips. For beginners, I recommend starting with 5mm (the wider width the easier it is to manipulate). It is easy to quill with narrow strips once you have the shapes mastered. For the slotted quilling tool, you can also use a toothpick or a skewer.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone,
I am a Materials Science engineer by profession and a self-taught artist by passion. I have volunteered as a craft instructor at orphanages, old age homes and also helped in fundraising through selling handicrafts and paper jewelry at craft fairs. I have been working with local libraries and preschools for more than a decade.
I love working with kids and adults equally and I aim to bring out the creativity in every individual. I believe that every one of us is unique and is loaded with creativity which just needs some guidance. So, I am here to assist you to make your work look fabulous. Also, as a Materials Science engineer, I understand the detrimental effects of plastics. I like to share my knowledge with young kids and families on how paper can be used as an alternative to plastic toys and junk jewelry.
