Class Experience

I will teach one painting of one wild animal a week. I will share and quiz students on facts about each animal throughout the relaxing painting process. Class starts with introductions and expectations, then a reassurance that no one is expected to be perfect and a loving reminder to have fun and enjoy the process, then an overview, then a sketch of the animal of the week, then the painting begins! While we paint, I will ask students to share any facts they already know and then ask questions to prompt their thinking process to see if they can fill in the blank on some animal facts. I like to laugh and keep things light...after all, painting should be enjoyable! Students will be lovingly encouraged to share their work and sincerely compliment each other. Beginners are welcome! No prior knowledge needed...all instructions will be kept simple. I welcome creativity and individuality...we learn from each other!
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to paint a giraffe, an elephant and a monkey in acrylic paint. They will be learning how to make fur look like fur and how to create textured skin.
