US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Welcome to our class on Community Heroes! Who are the important people that help our community run smoothly? What are their roles and where can we find them? Each week we will learn about a different hero, starting with a read aloud and then allowing the students to share what they know. We will do a short group activity that focuses on our hero in an interactive way. Class participation is essential - I hope each student will share their knowledge and help make connections to their own world. Week 1: Firefighters Book - Pete the Cat - Firefighter Pete - by James Dean Week 2: Police Officers Book: All About Police Officers - by Mari Schuh Week 3: Doctors and Nurses Book: Berenstain Bears Go to The Doctor - by Stan and Jan Berenstain Week 4: Crossing Guards Crossing Guards - by Rebecca Pettiford Week 5: Mail Carriers Book: All About Mail Carriers - Mari Schuh Week 6: Librarians Book: Librarians - by Emma Less An activity will be available in the classroom to print prior to class. This is encouraged but by no means required :)
