Class Experience

Learners will learn to take their well-written informative paragraph and stretch it into a multi-paragraph essay.
I have a Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in multicultural education, and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
Learners will work on creating and/or polishing their work after each class.
Google Docs (or preferred application), pencil and paper if preferred with ability to scan for turning in work, printables provided from class (attached on the classroom page before needed in class or for homework), non-fiction book/website on topic of choice
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Before starting the Learning Path, an informative paragraph writing sample is collected through Google Forms. Learners receive directions and the Google Form link to complete the writing sample upon enrollment.

Throughout the class, learners will work on each concept and will receive feedback from the teacher. Peer interaction/feedback is encouraged, but not required. All work is turned in through our class page.

At the end of the 4th session of each class, each learner submits their completed work to the teacher and feedback is given to the learner through the class page. Additionally, the learner’s grownup receives a progress report through Outschool messages.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Learners will complete a writing sample on Google Forms for baseline assessment before class and summative assessment at the end of the class.

Learners will use the app of their choosing to complete their writing. Alternatively, they can write on paper and submit a scanned copy of their work.

All work during class will be turned in on the Outschool classroom page, with the exception of the writing samples submitted through Google Forms.
