Orton Gillingham Tutor For Dyslexia, Dysgraphia & Reading Intervention

Orton Gillingham is the gold standard for reading and dyslexia intervention. OG is a structured, systematic, prescriptive approach that incorporates multisensory and explicit instruction tailored to each learner. We will follow the scope and sequence as prescribed in the OG methodology, and each lesson will be customized for your learner based on their needs, strengths, and interests. Each lesson will include spelling of sight words, word work, review, introduction of new concepts, reinforcement of concepts, encoding and decoding practice. We will also work on handwriting and reading comprehension. 
 
I have my Masters of Science in Educational Counseling, OG training through the Dyslexia Training Institute, and a TESOL certificate for English speakers of other languages. 

Although OG intervention is very structured and cumulative, I will work to make it fun and engaging for your learner. I will provide feedback on their progress as well as offer fun games they can play during and after class to reinforce the concepts they are learning to build their fluency and automaticity. 

Our first session will include an INTAKE assessment to see what they know and what they need to work on. This will help me create subsequent lessons for your learner. Although we can not skip concepts in OG intervention, if a learner is showing mastery then we can move much faster through the scope and sequence at their own pace. 

For proper OG intervention it is recommended that learners receive two 50 minute sessions each week. 
For some learners we may need to plan on four 30 minute sessions each week.

I use mostly virtual tools in class including online games. 

During the writing portion of our sessions it is recommend that learners have writing tools accessible and ready.
