Orton-Gillingham Reading & Writing! (1:1)

During this series of 1:1 reading and writing support, I will be able to provide results in decoding, spelling, and comprehension, of basic skills to reading and understanding advanced materials and essay writing skills of high-schoolers.

1 hour per week. Homework will be crafted for your child per request of the parent. Additional practice is always recommended to support developing readers and writers.
Assessment
Regular progress monitoring will accrue during all sessions to provide parents and instructor with key information moving forward.

Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Advanced Level
I use a variety of structures and science based intervention methods to support students who may fall below grade level or have an IEP to students who need enrichment and challenging experience. 

Our first session is dedicated to assessing your student. A diagnostic plan to included for your student with my professional opinion of how much tutoring your student would benefit from. 

From that session on I will craft session plans tailored to your child's needs. Whether that be learning how to learn basic words like 'dog', 'hat', 'shop' to advanced knowledge like morphology, comprehension of multi-paragraph reading, and advanced writing skills needed for high school and college, I am the teacher ready to support your learner!

Every session is designed to engage students in diverse and critical thinking, multi-sensory experience and the joy of writing. Sessions are designed to support your learner to be at their best however that looks!

I utilize a mixture of evidenced-based interventions. To name some specific programs I am trained in: Orton-Gillingham (great for all those who are learning to read and especially dyslexic students), Visualizing & Verbalizing by Lindamood Bell (for students who can decode writing but cannot understand it), Writing Revolution (to support students in writing development).
