In this ongoing course, learners will join their Disney friends and learn how to read and spell words and sight words and the rules for spelling and reading starting with short vowels though suffixes, with games, slides, and activities.

Beginner - Intermediate Level
Class Content: Each week learners will come together to learn and practice their spelling and reading skills with their Disney friends. We will begin with a review of letter names and sounds, introduce new skills and rules each session, do practice activity, and a game/activity for the rule of the day. Learners will learn how to turn basic letters/sounds into cvc words, digraphs, blends, syllable patterns, bossy r words, and suffixes and gain knowledge of the rules for how to spell words in the English language.
I have taught all elementary grades kindergarten-6th grade and am familiar with several different reading and writing curriculums. I am also an OG (Orton Gillingham) certified teacher. I have been working as a teacher for 10 years and with students in the school setting for almost 20 years.
Homework Offered
Learners will be sent flash cards to review sounds and rules and additional activities to complete that review our skills from class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
I will be doing informal observations throughout the class and adjust activities as needed. If you need an official assessment please let me know prior to class.Grades Offered
Please let me know prior to class if you would like a grade for your learner. At this level it would be a mastery grade (Exceeds expectations, meets expectations, needs some extra practice)
We will be doing a lot of interactive activities during our class with flashcards, writing/tracing letters, interactive games, and practice to help learners of all learning styles be successful.
Learners should have a solid foundation of letter names and basic sounds (alphabet sounds). I do offer this course at a higher or lower level if needed.
Each week materials will be posted in the classroom prior to class to be printed off for learners to get the most out of the class. Learners will also need to have writing and coloring materials, scissors, glue, and paper nearby each time we meet.
Please be nearby during class in case of need of tech support, off screen. Only learners enrolled in the class can be on camera. We will be using scissors, glue, and coloring materials during class. Please supervise as needed for this class. We will be playing online games occasionally during class. Please be nearby to help your learner get it set up as needed.
All materials will be created by me using my experience as a brick and mortar and online teacher.
