In this ongoing course, learners will learn the letters and sounds of the English alphabet by doing flash cards, online games, hands on practice and games, and practicing with letters by writing.

Beginner Level
Class Content: Each week learners will come together to learn and practice their letter names and sounds with our Disney friends. We will begin with a review of letter names and sounds, introduce new letters each session, do hands on activities such as tracing letters and finding items with those letters (beginning sounds will naturally be added in as we learn), and a craftivity for the letters for the week. Learners will learn the 26 letter names and sounds in the English alphabet.
I have taught all elementary grades kindergarten-6th grade and am familiar with several different reading and writing curriculums. I am also an OG (Orton Gillingham) certified teacher. I have been working as a teacher for 10 years and with students in the school setting for almost 20 years.
Homework Offered
Additional activities will be sent if you would like your learners to continue to practice outside of class time. Learners will also be sent a set of Disney themed flash cards for you to practice at home.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
I will be doing informal observations throughout the class and adjust activities as needed. If you need an official assessment please let me know prior to class.Grades Offered
Please let me know prior to class if you would like a grade for your learner. At this level it would be a mastery grade (Exceeds expectations, meets expectations, needs some extra practice)
We will be doing a lot of interactive activities during our class with flashcards, writing/tracing letters, interactive games, and crafts.
Learners should be able to sit through a twenty minute class and follow teacher directions.
Each week materials will be posted in the classroom prior to class to be printed off for learners to get the most out of the class. Learners will also need to have writing and coloring materials, scissors, glue, and paper nearby each time we meet.
Please be nearby during class in case of need of tech support, off screen. Only learners enrolled in the class can be on camera. We will be using scissors, glue, and coloring materials during class. Please supervise as needed for this class. We will be playing online games occasionally during class. Please be nearby to help your learner get it set up as needed.
All materials will be created by me using my experience as a brick and mortar and online teacher.
