1 in-class hoursClass Experience
Students will learn how to fold paper step-by-step into an origami petal. After the petals are folded, they will be glued together. Previous experience with origami folding is not necessary. If the learner does not have origami paper I will show them how to measure and cut the paper. In this one hour class, students will make one to three flowers. The amount of flowers made during the class will depend on the pace of the learner. Instructions will be given on how to attach flowers to a "stem". A few options will be shown such as natural sticks and branches, chopsticks or skewers. Once everyone has learned how to fold the petals I will show a slideshow of the different possibilities, such as how to attach multiple flowers together to make bouquets and hanging balls. 60 minutes will give us time to fold together and show the finished flowers to everyone in the class. Parents are welcome to message me with questions prior to the class. I never cancel classes due to low enrollment. However, I will email you to let you know if your learner is the only one, in case they are uncomfortable with a one-on-one class.
Learning Goals
Learn how to fold paper to form a petal.

Supply List
>Paper Each flower has 5 petals, so you will need at least 15 pieces of precut paper. The pieces of paper should be precut into squares. You'll need five pieces that are the same size for each flower. Most learners make one to three flowers total. Your flowers can be made from different sized squares of paper. Just make sure you have five of each size for each flower you make. Cut them into 4 1/2 inch to 6 inch squares. If you don't have that much experience with origami you should use 6 inch squares because they are easier to work with. Origami paper is OK, but not necessary. My sample was made with pages from an old atlas and astro-bright copy paper. You can use printer paper, looseleaf paper, magazine pages, book pages or any paper that is easy to fold. >Paperclips or mini clothespins(at least 10) >White or clear glue >Glue stick Optional > Washi tape
