In this one time beginner class, students will learn origami and fold paper to create an Easter bunny box. Students will be taught how to fold an origami square base to create the bunny box. I'll have examples to show students how they can use the bunny box at Easter. I'll also show examples I made from 8" square and 12" square paper that can be adapted for other holidays or occasions. I made the bunny box from one 6" paper. The finished box is 2 1/2" by 2 1/2" square and 3" tall before bending the ears. Students can bring larger paper for a larger bunny box. Students will also need a glue stick or glue, and a marker or pen to decorate a bunny face. If the student is new to origami and doesn't have origami paper, they can fold white copy paper. Students can also use gift wrap, (I suggest plain on the back, no grid lines) or paper from advertisements that come in the mail, or magazines. If you prefer, origami paper can be purchased online at Michaels, Amazon, and Target. I do not recommend construction paper because it is to thick to fold well and students may get frustrated working with it.
