Oreo, the Bottle Goat - Farm Animal Meet & Learn Live: Ages 6 - 9
Class experience
This fun and informative class will introduce students to a real life bottle goat, named Oreo. The beginning of the class will include a quick introduction to Oreo and facts about goats. The teacher will discuss: - Appearance of goat (different type of goats, tail, hooves, horns, color, etc). - What the baby goat eats and how the diet changes as the goat grows, foragers and grazers. - Basic care of goats. - Different jobs goats do on the farm; milk, weed control, pets, yoga friends,...
Students will learn about goats and farm animals by engaging with a live bottle goat. They will have an opportunity to practice social skills; such as taking turns, asking questions, and being good listeners.
Former Elementary teacher (Early Childhood to Grade 6; ESOL/ESL) for 6 years. Owner/Operator of Organic Hay, Goat, & Sheep Farm for 8 years
Recommended Supplies (Students may use these items for class) Paper markers/pencils/crayons Some students listen better when they can doodle, so please feel free to allow you student bring paper and crayons to class session if this helps the student focus and engage in class. I would love to see lots of goat and farm animal drawings!
If student is new to Outschool/Zoom, please be in the room or available to help student with mute/unmute buttons if needed. Otherwise minimal parental guidance should be needed. The teacher includes a quick "Be Like A Goat" movement activity that the student may choose to participate in if they would like. The student can stay seated and just move their arms, they can stand and move arms and legs, or they can just watch the teacher. It is a very short activity and the teacher will skip it if needed/requested and move on to a different non-movement game.
