US Grade 2 - 5
Beginner - Advanced Level
In this ongoing class, students will be learning to draw art life scenery (animals, landscapes, skylines) and use oil or chalk pastels techniques to paint it. We will break down elements into simple shapes and then refine our drawing. Pastel painting techniques will cover blending, layering, scumbling, stippling, sgraffito (scratching-oil only) & impasto (heavy layering -oil only) as needed for the specific project. Lessons will be in a "work with me format" with visual and audio...
This class is taught in English.
- Drawing techniques, oil or chalk pastel painting techniques.
Pencil & eraser. Pastel paper, watercolor paper or mixed media paper. (Textured thick paper) Oil or chalk pastels set (various colors). Creamy oil pastels are much easier to layer and blend. Paper towels. Q-tips for blending. Rounded tip paint palette knife. (child-safe) If other supplies are needed for specific projects, it will be listed in the classroom for that week.
Use only non-toxic, child-safe art supplies.
