US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this weekly art course, we will create artworks emphasizing the elements of art (line, shape, color, texture, space, and form) and the principles of design (pattern, balance, rhythm/movement, unity/variety, emphasis, and proportion). The content does not build, however it is a complete course. Each week, we will create a work of art emphasizing one art element or design principle. First, we will observe and discuss famous artworks that emphasize the featured art element or design principle for inspiration. Next, we will observe and discuss exemplars of the project we will be creating, so that the learners will have a better understanding of how the art element or design principle will be applied to our project. Then, we will begin the art project for the week. After creating the artwork together, we will engage in a discussion in which each learner will have the option to share their artwork with the group and talk about it. This concluding activity promotes positive discussion, strengthening communication as well as critical thinking skills. This class is also available as a 1:1 private tutoring class. Please message me for details.
