Class Experience

US Grade 4
Beginner Level
---Teacher Info :)---

With over 15 years of teaching experience and a Master's Degree in Education, I specialize in making mathematics accessible, fostering a supportive learning community, and boosting students' self-confidence. While this course maintains an academic focus, I intersperse enrichment activities into the curriculum, combining academic rigor with play-based methods. As a former principal, I've also mentored teachers and hold a deep understanding of the parental perspective, having become a mother myself—an experience that fuels my genuine care for each student. Explore my "Math Lab" club courses for additional play-based learning opportunities.

---Class Format---

Classes, scheduled for 45 minutes on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, follow a dynamic format that includes warm welcomes, lectures, discussions, practice sessions, games, and hands-on activities. While the primary emphasis is on academic content, I seamlessly integrate enrichment activities into lessons to create an engaging and well-rounded learning experience.

---Flexible Scheduling---

This is a flexible 6-month rotating class, allowing participants to join at any time and stay for as long as desired. For a comprehensive experience of the entire 4th-grade curriculum, enrollment can begin at any point and continue for a 6-month duration. The schedule for the next four weeks is outlined below for your reference.

---Homework---

Weekly practice problems, along with their answer keys, will be provided for completion at home. This allows flexibility for learners to engage with the material outside of class hours. Similar to building muscles, there is no substitute for dedicated time spent working through these problems, fostering a deeper understanding of the content.

---Communication---

Effective communication serves as a cornerstone for quality learning beyond the home. If you observe that your student is struggling to keep up with homework or requires more personalized instruction, please reach out to me. Available options include additional practice problems, online tools, or targeted and diagnostic math support, which can be accessed through my private tutoring offerings.

---Materials Needed---

Ensure your student has the everyday kit, including sharp pencils, pens, colored pencils/markers, scissors, glue sticks, lined paper, or a notebook. Occasionally, advance notice will be given for printouts or any additional materials required for specific lessons.
