Assessments Offered
Grades Offered
In the private elementary tutoring program, a grading system may not be the primary focus. Instead, the emphasis is on holistic learning, skill development, and individual progress. Here are the grading options and the role grades will play in this class: Grading Options: Progress Reports: Regular progress reports will be provided to parents at the end of each tutoring session. These reports will highlight the student's achievements, areas of improvement, and any additional support or resources recommended. Skill Mastery Assessments: Assessments will focus on gauging the mastery of specific skills covered during the tutoring sessions. Rather than assigning traditional grades, feedback will be given on skill acquisition and application. Grade Provision: Upon Request: Parents can request specific details regarding their child's progress and performance. The tutor is available to discuss individual assessments, milestones, and any concerns raised by the parents. By Default for All Learners: Progress reports will be shared with parents by default, providing a comprehensive overview of the student's journey. While traditional grades may not be assigned, detailed feedback will be provided to ensure a clear understanding of the student's development. Role of Grades: Guidance for Improvement: The focus is on using assessments and progress reports as tools for improvement. Feedback will highlight areas where the student excels and areas that may require additional attention. Communication with Parents: Grades, in the form of progress reports, serve as a means of transparent communication with parents. Parents will have a clear understanding of their child's strengths, challenges, and the steps taken to address learning needs. Individualized Learning Plan: Grades, if requested, will be part of a larger discussion on tailoring the learning plan to the student's unique needs. The tutor will collaborate with parents to adjust the tutoring approach based on the student's progress. In essence, the tutoring program prioritizes a comprehensive understanding of the student's growth over traditional grading. The aim is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment that fosters a love for learning and academic success.
