This ongoing class has content that teens will find interesting & is designed to work on advanced critical reading, grammar, vocabulary, & particularly the confusing aspects of the English language (idioms, metaphors, and figures of speech)

Class experience

Advanced Level
Students will:
~ practice speaking English confidently in conversational and academic tones while learning idioms, figures of speech, and more
~ develop strong English communication skills
~ expand their English vocabulary
~ improve pronunciation and sentence structures in English
~ develop (advanced) thinking skills in English
~improve comprehension, writing, and grammar skills

I am a secondary English teacher with certifications in gifted education and special education. I also have a TESOL endorsement. I have been professionally teaching for 7 years and have a masters of arts in English education. I enjoy using socratic and discussion-based learning to help students think deeply about the texts that they read.
