Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This class will cover long division using models and traditional and partial product methods discussed. Students will divide up to 4 digit by 2 digit numbers by the end of the course. Students should have a basic knowledge of multiplication and have memorized some basic multiplication facts in order to be successful in this class. Access to a printer therefore is necessary to be successful in this class. Students will use the handout to follow along with the video to practice and learn the material. Independent practice will be assigned for after class and any work that needs to be graded should be submitted by that Friday via Outschool email. Below you will find the focus of each day. Day 1: Real world examples of division and what division is and the different ways to write a division equation. Using Models to represent division. Day 2: 3-digit by 1 digit division with no remainders using visual models Day 3: 3-digit by 1 digit with remainders Day 4: 4-digit by 2 digit division with and without remainders. Each day you will receive a packet of materials that will be needed to be printed before class. Therefore, you will need to access to a printer. Parental Guidance
Students will occasionally be asked to use scissors to cut out math shapes, etc. for lessons prior to class. Parental guidance is recommended.

Welcome! My name is Debbie and I am a certified teacher with a Bachelors of Science in Education with a concentration in the visual arts. I also hold Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on math and science. I have been lucky enough throughout my career to have taught grades K through 6 and be a math and reading interventionist. Math is one of my favorite subjects to teach and I love thinking of creative ways to get students to love it too and gain confidence.
I primarily teach math classes most popular class is my 1:1 math tutoring class, but I have expanded my classes recently to include art classes as well as thematic science classes for first, second, third and fourth grades.
