Before our meeting, I will send the student and parent an intake sheet to find out the student's needs in order to create an individualized lesson.  During our session, I will provide examples, explanations, and practice activities for the student in order to help them become a stronger writer. I feel as if engagement and hands-on activities are best for learning retention, so I do not spend the whole class lecturing.  I will explain a concept and then guide a student through doing it on their own. 

I can help with specific grammar needs such as run-on and fragment sentences, comma splices, misplaced modifiers, parallel structure, weak sentence structure, etc. I can also provide help and guidance with how to structure a paragraph and/or an essay, and how to properly integrate information like paraphrased information and direct quotes. 

Students can also send me a writing sample for us to discuss and revise during class. I look forward to working with your learner soon!
