Class Experience

NOTE: If you don't see a suitable day/time to enrol then please contact me and I'll see if I can arange another time/day.

Each week students will draw a famous landmark from Great Britain and learn some of the history behind it. Britain is divided up as Wales, England, and Scotland giving a huge range of landmarks to draw. The class will learn about iconic landmarks such as Stonehenge, Buckingham Palace and Edingburgh castle. From Ancient to modern, there are castles, impressive scupltures, cathedrals and unusual buildings all with a rich history. An excellent way to improve their art skills and learn some history.

Week of Febuary 19th: Stonehenge

Week of Febuary 26th: Buckingham Palace

Week of March 5th: Endingurgh Castle

Week of March 12th: London Eye

The weeks following March 12th students will be drawing many more landmarks found around Great Britain. There are many landmarks to draw and students can request to focus on a particular landmark if they wish.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been working with children (Wales, UK) for about 20 years in various settings.

I have attended a Rudolf Steiner teacher training course and also qualified as an after school club leader. Mostly I have experience with home educated Children of all ages in a voluntary capacity. For 15 years I helped run a social group for home educating families and for the past 10 years (still doing this) I have helped with a large family camp for home educating families. This has involved a bit of everything. I've helped with animation classes, sport event and art classes. I have also taught making clay bread ovens and making bamboo pipes from bamboo. For the past couple of years I've helped out with a forest school club, mainly teaching the children (8-11 years) string tricks and making survival bracelets.

My hobby is art which I've been doing on and of for 20 years. For the past year I've been teaching art online classes to a group of home educated children as what I mostly enjoy is passing on skills (whatever the subject) to others. But beware sometimes my cat joins in the online sessions!
