Assessment
Students will be assessed verbally through participation and frequent check-ins throughout each class.Class Experience
The curriculum for this one-on-one class will be designed with the specific learner in mind. Please send a private message to Ms. Julie to discuss what you're interested in your learner spending their time on, and we will make it happen together! Choose from: Alphabet Numeracy Acting Social/Emotional Coaching Preschool Storytime Reading and Phonics and so much more! Unless otherwise discussed, classes will follow our normal schedule of: Hello song Introduction to the topic of the day Practice with the learning A movement activity connected to our learning A short video clip about our learning A game to practice our new skills A book related to the topic of the day. An example of a schedule for this class could look like the following, if we chose to have a different content area explored each day: Monday - ABC's and early literacy Tuesday - 123's and early math literacy Wednesday - Fairy tales and imaginative play Thursday - Feelings and social/emotional skills Fridays - Fun Friday! (based on student interest, we might learn about different cultures, the arts, animals, or current events) Week 1 - Letter A 2D Shapes Goldilocks and the Three Bears Making Friends Teddy Bear Picnic Week 2 - Letter M 3D Shapes Little Red Riding Hood Feeling Bored/ Waiting Zoo Field Trip Week 3 - Letter T Patterns The Little Red Hen Feeling Mad and Frustrated Robots Week 4 - Letter S Addition Chicken Little Feeling Sad Magic Week 5 - Letter I Subtraction The Boy Who Cried Wolf Affirmations Beach Trip but, again, the content is flexible; this can be discussed with Ms. Julie and clarified before or after the learner is enrolled.
Learning Goals
Students will learn and review their alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors, and social/emotional vocabulary and skills. The children (and their parents!) will also have learn new songs, dances, and games to take with them outside of class throughout the day. Reading a book each day will strengthen early literacy skills, and our share-outs will allow children to practice and refine social skills.
