Class Experience
I will provide one on one tutoring to students for cursive. Dependent on a student's need, this might include basic strokes of undercurve, downcurve, overcurve, and slant as well as understanding they have a certain shape, size, and spacing of the letters. In addition, students can practice reading the words and/or sentences to me that are written in cursive. Parents will have an opportunity to provide me with information on what is desired by the parent and student when they register. My teaching style is to make the learner comfortable and relate to them. Then, I try to apply the material to his or her interest. Of course, positive praise to encourage learners is made on completion of work. To teach cursive, I model the letters on a white board, on screen with the cursor, as well as body/hand movement. We practice the formation, look at common mistakes, write them and circle our best one after practicing. Students do not need to have previous experience.
Learning Goals
The student will receive guided instruction on how to read and write cursive on skills determined by the parent and student.
