Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 12
I offer help for middle and high school students in middle school math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2. I help with homework, studying for tests, additional instruction, concept remediation, and study skills. Whether you're trying to catch up, keep up, or get ahead in math class I will help you reach your study goals.

The class is meant for one or more sessions each week where each session we address a specific concept or set of questions that you need help with. If you don't have specific questions you want addressed during the session, then I will focus on a topic based on either a class syllabus you provide or pull from educational standards. During sessions, we will go through a cycle of lecture-based instruction, guided practice, then independent practice with immediate feedback. I use a mix of student-provided material, khan academy, digital whiteboard interaction, and a personal collection of textbooks and activities to provide you as many resources as possible for learning.

I take difficult math terminology and concepts and explain them in ways that are easier to understand. I use a lot of visuals and mnemonics to make the math more relatable. Having individualized support that is adapted to your needs can take a confusing and stressful topic and make it not only manageable, but fun. I want to help you build the necessary skills to approach math confidently. A large part of my motivation in tutoring math is seeing students grow their confidence in approaching math and opening up new opportunities for themselves.

If you are scheduling a session, I ask that you send me a message ahead of time with more details on assignments or topics you are hoping to cover. This will allow me to prepare ahead of time and we will be able to do a lot more during the session. Also, if you have any questions about the tutoring or would like a shorter/longer session time, please don't hesitate to message me as I try to be as accommodating as possible.
Learning Goals
