Does your learner need homework help or to practice, review, or learn new math concepts? In this ongoing course, I will meet one-on-one with a learner to go over whatever material/content is requested. As a veteran teacher with experience teaching math in grades 3-8, I look forward to helping your learner gain confidence as a mathematician. Using hands-on and visual strategies and seeing multiple strategies for solving problems will help your learner master new skills. Material/content requests should be communicated to the teacher 3 days in advance of the class meeting. Examples of topics: -subtracting across zero -multiplication of greater numbers -long division -solving equations -solving word problems using geometry formulas

Eighteen years as a public school teacher in Maryland and two years as an Outschool teacher have provided me the opportunity to teach learners from diverse backgrounds with a variety of learning styles. I began my teaching career in elementary school, teaching all subjects and earning my Masters of Education with a certificate in Gifted Education from Johns Hopkins University. Later, I added both Middle School Math: 6-9 and ESOL Pre-K-12 certifications to my professional certificate. Most recently, I taught middle school math, working with both accelerated students and those with Special Education needs.
