Class Experience
US Grade Preschool - 1
This will be an ongoing class and will focus on the needs of the individual learner. I will do a simple assessment of your child fist to determine where and how I should begin lessons with them. I will then structure my teaching to meet their needs. The progression of the lessons will be determined by how your child is doing and their individual needs. Being able to have your child work with me on-on-one has so many amazing benefits. Everything will be tailor made for them. They will for sure receive the one on one attention and help that is essential. They will also leave or continue with me being well prepared for the next step in their educational walk. Your learner will explore and review: 1. Letter names 2. Letter sounds 3. High frequency words 4. Building words and sentences 5. Reading and writing simple sentences 6. Numbers 7. Counting 8. Speaking skills 9. Comprehension skills 10. Compare and contrast 11. Social skills Because this is a one-on-one class, your child's needs will determine the direction of my instruction. Our first class will be an introduction class. I create a Google Slides presentation all about them that will help me to get to know your child better in a FUN way! The follow session(s) I will focus more on determining the skill/needs level of your child. After, that I will design classes to meet your child's needs, learning style and personality. We will generally focus on 1-3 skills per class session. The class will consist of a lot of fun engaging activities that will help grab and maintain your child's attention. I use tools such as: puppets, hands on, Google Slides, videos and movement. My teaching style is calm yet fun! Meaning, we will have fun in class, but we will also be able to do activities in more of a calm structured way. I always feel that a good balance is best. I am always very encouraging of as much learner involvement as possible. That is how they learn! Children learn the best when they are able to: hear, say and do; not just hear. This is KEY! :) Your learner is able to ask interact often as long as they follow the rules of class. One skill that would be ideal for your child to know prior to class is how to hold a pencil and how to trace lines.

Parental Guidance
Families, I will be using a few key resources during our class time during most sessions. These resources are: Google Slides, Google Jamboard, Boomcards and also Starfall.
Google Slides- I have created many fun and interactive slides presentations that I will utilize to help the learning come to life for your child. I will use my Google Slides by sharing my screen in order for your child to be able to see. Note- Your child will NOT need this app/account/or extension in order to see it from my screen onto theirs.
Google Jamboard- This is considered a digital whiteboard. I will use it to share my screen with your child and use it for things like: drawing, writing, flying in images of shapes etc. Note- Your child will NOT need this app/account/or extension in order to see it from my screen onto theirs.
Starfall.com- Starfall has always been an amazing website and app that I have used for all my years of teaching. It is very interactive. I will use it mainly to focus on: letter names, letter sounds and phonics. I will share my screen also with the use of Starfall. Note- Your child will NOT need this app/account/or extension in order to see it from my screen onto theirs.
