Class Experience
Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to help your child build confidence, improve their public speaking skills, and develop their creativity? Look no further than this one-on-one improv class! This class is led by a trained teacher from the famous Second City Theater, known for producing famous actors and comedians like Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, and Mike Meyers. Unlike traditional improv classes, the one-on-one format allows your learner to receive personalized attention and support, tailored to their specific needs and goals -- whether that's becoming a better performer, improving speaking skills, or just having fun! Because it's a one-on-one class it's ideal entry point for students who may be more introverted. The class is learner-directed so the content can be customized to individual needs and interests. Through age-appropriate improv games and techniques participants will gain confidence as a performer. Plus, with individualized instruction, they'll have the opportunity to experiment with different characters and scenarios, helping them develop their acting and writing skills. The class begins with exploring the "yes, and" philosophy of improv, teaching your child to work with others and develop their own comedic voice. As they progress, they'll have the chance to play a variety of one-on-one improv games and develop their skills even further. Enroll your child in this one-on-one improv class today and watch as they grow in confidence, creativity, and joy!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach classes related to comedy and humor including sketch comedy, improv, and satire writing.
I'm an improvisor, comedian, and writer who has written professionally for web series, comic strips, and satirical publications like McSweeney's. I've been fortunate to graduate from the Second City's renowned Conservatory Program. - with leading comedy actors and writers including Kevin McDonald of TV's The Kids in the Hall and the movie Lilo & Stitch.
I believe that comedy has the ability to improve skills like interpersonal communication and writing as well as boost students' confidence. Whether a learner is the "class clown" or someone who is a bit more quiet, I aim to create a learning environment where they can have fun, gain confidence and learn new skills.
I have a bachelor of arts degree and a master's degree in business.
