Taught by a teacher with an MA in Jewish Studies, this beginner's level course is a fun introduction to the sights and sounds of the Hebrew alphabet! This personalized class allows the student to work at their own pace. Coursework can be altered if you would like to learn to read and write Hebrew at a higher level. We will cover four-five letters each week, including final forms. This class is meant to familiarize the student with the Hebrew letters and their sounds, as well as their block print forms. The student will make each letter out of materials (such as clay), and will also practice writing the letters in block print. This class meets for six sessions. Topics to be covered are as follows: Week One: Aleph, Bet, Vet, Gimel, Dalet א ב בּ ג ד Week Two: Hay, Vav, Zayin, Chet, Tet ה ו ז ח ט Week Three: Yod, Caf, Chaf, Lamed, Mem ׳ כּ כ ל מ Week Four: Nun, Samech, Ayin, Pey, Fey נ ס ע פּ פ Week Five: Tsade, Koof, Rash צ ק ר Week Six: Shin, Sin, Tav and Vowels שֹ ת ת **In order to facilitate discussion, students should expect to keep their screens ON. Thank you!**
Learning Goals
•. Students will become visually familiar with the letters of the Hebrew alphabet
• Students will be introduced to the names of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet
• Students will be introduced to the sounds made by the letters of the Hebrew alphabet
• Depending upon the student's initial level, student may learn to write the letters in block print
• Depending upon the student's initial level, student may learn to read Hebrew

Parental Guidance
This is a secular class, which will proceed at the student's pace. If possible, please contact me upon enrollment to discuss your current level of knowledge of Hebrew.
Please bring at least 3 (your choice which, more is fine) of the following materials to class each day:
Play-doh or clay, pretzel sticks, pipe cleaners, building blocks, toothpicks, small blocks, Cheerios or cereal, paperclips, or three dozen pennies/coins.
***Please make sure these are materials that your students can handle safely, and will NOT swallow or otherwise use to injure themselves! Please provide supervision as needed.***
Please also bring crayons or markers, and some paper. Thank you!
