US Grade 3
Olympiad Math is a way of comprehensive training to students applying mathematical logic together with analysis on graphics, shape, color, size, weight, and distance on problem-solving. It is effective to improve children's communication and logical thinking. The class will be an hour weekly class, questions will be discussed during the class. Those questions are similar to IQ questions and require kids to solve them in their own way. It just likes playing math games in class. Students need a basic knowledge of math, like plus and minus. I will teach multiply and division by using examples. It is a question-based course. Students will do and discuss math questions together. The topic will include: Week of Oct 12th: Looking for a Pattern, The tory of Gauss, Tricks in Four Operations Week of Oct 19th: Solve by Assuming, The Age Problem, Make a List, Percentage Week of Oct 26th: Logic, Prime Numbers, Working Backward, Excess and Shortage Problems Week of Nov 2th: Ratio, Speed, Pigeonhole Principle, Angles and Triangles, Fraction
Learning Goals
After the class, students will get more confidence in learning mathematics. They will be able to use problem-solving skills in real life. Students' academics in mathematics in school will be improved.
