The learning goals for this course will investigate the history of the Cold War and how the Ohio Class submarine fits into our current United States nuclear strategy of peace through deterrence. Further, it will discuss the Trident II missile system that is on this nuclear submarine and some of the other systems on this submarine that make this mission possible. Additionally, there will be an attached note taking document with pictures to help the student learn and retain the information. The student may download the document and use it to take notes during the class. Also, there will be two short videos about the Ohio Class Submarine to stimulate discussion points in the class. The desire of the teacher is to engage the students with questions and dialogue to help them further learn about the material. There will be no assigned homework in this class and the teaching style will be interactive discussion using power point.
Learning Goals
The focus will be on both history and science in this class. Specifically, Cold War history, peace through deterence, and how missile is launched from this submarine.

There is no graphic violent material in this class. There will be a short YouTube video in this class and you do not need a separate login for this video.
