In this week long ocean themed Summer camp, our class will participate in a variety of fun ocean activities! Day 1: Show And Tell Ocean Items and Drawing Activity! Bring your favorite ocean item or toy to share with the class. Be ready to tell us where it came from, and what is special about it. After sharing time, our class will look at a few ocean scene pictures. Each student will have an opportunity to talk about what they plan to include in their drawing. To wrap up class, we will draw a colorful ocean scene! Day 2: Coral Reef! Do you know what a coral reef is? Each student will share their knowledge. Class will include cool slides and info about the coral reef. We will end with a fun coral reef craft! Day 3: Jellyfish Art and Facts! Our class will observe colorful jelly pictures as we learn! A jellyfish craft will end our class! Day 4: Shark Art and Facts! We'll talk about and look at various types of sharks. Each student will draw and color their favorite! Day 5: Foil Ocean Painting! Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I am Ms. Kiana and I love teaching early childhood! My classes will include fun art activities, a sharing time, and an educational (and sometimes silly) discussion!
Children are naturally creative and I appreciate how their artwork is authentic and always a vision that is their own. Since they love to share their ideas, it is important to me to provide opportunities for them to communicate and to be creative. I am constantly in awe of the insightful ideas and observations their little minds have!
I have a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah where I attended on a softball scholarship. For 10 years I taught at a Reggio Emilia preschool in Utah. I also worked as a teacher trainer for 3 years where I provided early childhood training to preschools in the Salt Lake valley. In 2012 my family moved to California. I am currently in my 6th year as a lead teacher for my city preschool program, which I love!
When I am not working, I love spending time with my family! We are active in sports, so we look forward to being busy again with practices and games. In my free time, the beach is my favorite place to enjoy a warm sunny day.
