Class Experience

In this fun camp campers will learn:
 - Concept Art
 - Navigating in a 3d environment
 - Transform tools - Move, Scale and Rotating a model
 - What is a 2d shape versus a 3d object
 - Editing the different parts of a model such as Vertex, Edge and Face
 - Working with low polygon counts verses high polygon counts
- Working with Modifiers and what do they do for us
 - Adding Materials and what is a Texture?
 - Adding lights and cameras for animations

Each day the camper will receive a concept art piece that they have to create using the tools they have learned in camp. These will take the camper at least an hour or more time for homework. If the camper has a piece they would love to do instead of the stated homework assignment I would be more then open for the camper to do that instead but please have them bring some concept art with them to camp so that we can talk about it.
Campers are required to have a three button mouse and not a track pad for working in Blender.
Also you will need to download and install Blender a free 3d modeling software that can be found at Please check with the software and hardware requirements of your computer before downloading Blender. I have found most computers made in the last 5 years have no problems running the software.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
After each assignment is turned in I will send an email back with a written critique of how the camper did and where they can improve.
5 hours per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
