Class Experience

In this nursery rhyme filled class learners will get the chance to get their wiggles out, sing along to classic children's nursery rhymes ("The Hokey Pokey", "If You're Happy and You Know it", and "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes"), play games (Simon Says, Freeze Dance, and Leap Frog), and wrap up class with yoga poses, breathing exercises, and affirmations.

When learners enter the classroom they will be greeted and have a chance to greet me before we begin class. To begin class we will get our wiggles out first to a short children's song called "Shake Your Sillies Out". After we will do a warm up to the nursery rhymes mentioned above, followed by one of the games mentioned above. Lastly, learners will be taught a yoga flow filled with animals, nature, and shapes followed by a breathing exercise ( bumblebee breath, lions breath, or flower breath), and ending with a sequence of affirmations (I am kind, I am wise, I am helpful, I am strong, I am loving!).

Parental Guidance
While practicing yoga is not dangerous, it is best to have a parent/guardian close by. Students should also have a clean and clear space that is big enough for them to lay their bodies down comfortably as we will be on the ground at some points in the class. A bottle of water is also recommend. Light stretching can happen before coming to class. This yoga class is best suited for bare feet.
Supply List
A yoga mat is optional and not totally necessary. Having water nearby is also recommended.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
