US Grade 1 - 4
In this one-time class, learners will make flying turkeys out of everyday materials while exploring aerodynamics. I will give step-by-step instructions for how to make the turkeys as learners follow along to make their own. After their turkeys are completed, they will test them out, discuss modifications that could be made to make their turkeys go further, try out different ideas, and learn some concepts related to aerodynamics. This class incorporates problem solving, sharing ideas, experimenting, following directions, and of course, FUN! Learners will need to be able to fold paper (similar to folding a paper airplane and making a paper fan), as well as use tape and scissors to complete this challenge. Help from a grown-up or older child may be needed depending on skill level.
