In this 3 week class, students will read and discuss Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter. Through discussion and class activities, students will analyze key themes and find connections between central elements in the novel.

In this 3 week teacher directed but student led class, students will not only read the text of The Scarlet Letter but also research the historical context of the story, observe character descriptions, and discover literary techniques used by the author. Through careful analysis of the text and topic related projects, students will see the lasting power of The Scarlet Letter.
