Class Experience

In this class, we will be learning all about the art of conversation! This is an art form that may be dying out with. So much communication is done via technology these days, we need to brush up on our conversation skills! 

This is a fun and stress free course that will help learners feel more comfortable when having face to face conversations with others. We will be learning the rules of conversation, how to politely change the subject, get some tips and conversation starters, and a whole lesson on what not to do in conversation. 

This is a great skill that can benefit everyone! Each lesson will take roughly 30 minutes to complete. I will be available via message if you have any questions, and will be checking yoru assessments in Nearpod!

4 Lessons
over 4 Weeks
Lesson 1:
Rules of Conversation & the Importance of Body Language
 We will be learning multiple "rules of conversations", why body language is important while having a conversation. 
Lesson 2:
Being respectful of others, sharing the conversation, staying on topic
 This lesson will be discussing why it is important to be respectful of others, how to share the conversation, how to stay on topic (and why you'd want to!) 
Lesson 3:
Conversation Starters and Tips
 In this lesson, I will be giving lots of great ideas to start conversations as well as some fantastic tips on how to carry on a positive conversation. 
Lesson 4:
Conversation Blunders & Struggles
 This lesson, we will be learning how to politely ask for clarification, what not to do in a conversation, and some things to keep in mind that will help lower your anxiety when it comes to having conversations with others!

I am excited to present this class to you because I have extensive experience with teaching social skills to middle and high schoolers. I have a degree in psychology with a concentration in child development. I worked with our local community service board in the school system for 8 years working with children and teens ages 3-18. I taught a weekly group about social skills, among other things, and did individual counseling daily.
