In this one-time class, students will get to practice their social skills in a fun, safe, no-pressure environment. This summer camp is student-led as I believe this is the best way for students to enjoy it and truly benefit from it. Because of this, it is not possible to give a daily breakdown but the daily schedule is outlined below. -Greetings -Discussion - Games Topics for each day Day 1: Video games and other games Day 2: TV and Movies Day 3: Books, audiobooks, comics, graphic novels, manga Day 4: YouTube and Amine or cartoons depending on the interests of each individual. Each discussion will be open for the students to talk about their likes within each category. I will help guide the discussion with questions as needed to keep them on topic. For example, for the discussion about video games questions may include: What are the top 3 video games you play the most? What is your favorite game and why? If you made your own game what would it be like? Games will vary depending on group members and group size but may include: Would you rather Mad-Libs Two truths and a lie Lights out (virtual hide and seek) The background game (spot the difference) This class is designed to be inclusive which means all students are welcome. All of my classes are designed with students of all abilities in mind but if your student has any certain needs I should be aware of or needs specific accommodations please let me know before class so we can work together to ensure the best possible class experience.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Gabrielle, I started teaching sewing lessons when I was a homeschool senior. I taught classes at a local home school group and discovered I had a passion for teaching. When I was 19 I discovered I was most likely autistic and was able to get an official diagnosis at 21. For me, this was a revelation and explained so much. It meant I was able to seek out others like me and was a huge game-changer for me.
For over 10 years now I have been teaching in different capacities and working with children with different disabilities and differences. I have been an in-home caregiver for a physically disabled child, a preschool teacher, a teacher's aid, a tutor and have been teaching online since January 2020. I also have an Associates' degree in special education.
I am proud to be autistic. This doesn't mean I don't have struggles but I firmly believe that we all have strengths and weaknesses. I strive to give all of my students a safe and welcoming place. All of my classes are inclusive which means students of all abilities are welcome. If your student needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure the best possible class experience.
