Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
This engaging online class helps teens aged 12–17 understand and respond to peer pressure with confidence and clarity. Over four interactive sessions, students will explore what peer pressure is, why it happens, and how it affects their decision-making—both in person and online. Through real-life scenarios, group discussions, and creative projects, participants will build skills in assertiveness, emotional awareness, and setting personal boundaries. The class empowers students to stay true to themselves, make positive choices, and support others facing peer influence.

Students will be able to define peer pressure and distinguish between positive and negative influences.
Students will identify common situations where peer pressure occurs

Lesson 1:
Week 1: Understanding Peer Pressure
 •	Objectives:
o	Define peer pressure (positive vs. negative)
o	Identify different types of peer influence (spoken, unspoken, direct, indirect)
•	Activities:
o	Group discussion: “Have you ever felt pressure to fit in?”
o	Interactive poll: What would you do?
o	Scenario role-plays
•	Assignment:
o	Journal reflection: Describe a time you felt peer pressure.

Lesson 2:
Week 2: The Psychology Behind Peer Pressure
 •	Objectives:
o	Learn how the brain and emotions respond to peer influence
o	Explore why we want to fit in and how social groups impact choices
•	Activities:
o	Mini-lecture on adolescent brain development
o	Breakout groups: “Why fitting in feels important”
o	Worksheet: Triggers and personal boundaries
•	Assignment:
o	Write a short story (real or fictional) about someone facing peer pressure.

o	Create a personal “Values Shield”
•	Assignment:
o	Record a 1-minute video or audio clip giving advice to someone your age about peer pressure.

o	Live Q&A with a teen mentor or counselor
•	Assignment:
o	Final project: Peer Pressure Survival Guide (written, video, or presentation)
