30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
This 30 minute class will allow learners to see themselves through art. We will create a self portrait using materials found in nature such as leaves, grass, twigs, flowers, whatever they can find outside! After we introduce ourselves, we'll share where we found our art pieces (in the backyard, on a walk, at the park, etc). Then we'll take a look in the mirror and start laying out our portraits. Along the way learners will answer questions such as: Why did you choose the materials you did? What are our 5 senses? How are they used? What is your favorite part about your face? How do we interpret facial expressions? Let's celebrate what makes us unique and make art along the way!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I'm Kara! As a former 1st Grade teacher, preschool teacher, and current stay at home mom to 3 (ages 12, 9, and 5) I know there is nothing more important than learning through play. In my classes we'll have fun, be challenged, and learn from each other. I have also taught over 1,000 English classes online and am very comfortable with the online teaching dynamic. I have a heart for young learners and sparking imagination. When I'm not teaching I love to cook, read, run, and travel. I can't wait to see you in my "classroom"!
