Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
In this five week course, students will discuss the books in A Narwhal and Jelly Book graphic novel series. Students will read one book per week or have someone read the book aloud. During class, we will discuss the assigned book. Students should complete the reading prior to class as we will not read the book during class. I will ask questions to help aid in the discussion of the book. Students will be given the opportunity to share his/her favorite part of the story. Learners will learn facts about different ocean animals through the use of a slideshow presentation. Learners will also complete a directed drawing of a different animal each week.

Book clubs are a wonderful way to help children discover their love of reading. A Narwhal and Jelly Book series is fun and engaging. Students will not only laugh but also learn about friendship through the loveable characters of a narwhal and a jellyfish.

Here is a list of the five books in the series:

June 7th - Week 2: Super Narwhal and Jelly Jolt
June 14th - Week 3: Peanut Butter and Jelly
June 21st - Week 4: Narwhal's Otter Friend
June 28th - Week 5: Happy Narwhalidays

You may order the books from popular booksellers. Students should read one book per week or listen to the book read aloud prior to class. Students should have their copy of the book during class. Students should also have drawing paper, pencil, and crayons/makers/colored pencils.
