Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
Beginner - Advanced Level
This class is designed to develop a love for reading and storytelling.
The goal is to enhance the learners critical thinking, comprehension and reasoning skills.
It also enhances their imagination, observation, reading between the lines, taking turns when speaking and actively listening to the story and each other.
This class is also design to spark a love for reading, storytelling and writing stories and to see if I am the right fit for you!
This is a 45 minute group session, of sheer fun; an introduction to my 1-1 tuition and group classes in the Foundations of Reading, Spelling, Comprehension and Writing.

The story is called: Shirley and the Enormous Pumpkin Vine; a story I wrote, specifically to make the listener/reader think. It is a speculative fiction story set in 2085.
This class is for readers who prefer to listen to stories; it is also for those who want to develop their listening skills and improve their comprehension and full sentences. After the story their will be a series of questions, full sentences required; including tips on how to write a book review.
After class, I will send a PDF copy, so that you he learner can read it in your own time.

There are 4 learning styles Visual (watching), Audio (listening), Tactile (touch & feel) and Kinetic (Physical movement); most of us learn through each style evenly, whilst some of us maybe predominant in one or two; this class seeks to engage Audio learners; however ALL learning styles are welcome!

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been an entrepreneur, reading specialist, actor, puppeteer, teacher and gamesmaster for over 30 years. As a teacher I have been making up games for my students and as a child I would think of them spontaneously. In these changing times learning is becoming static, there are 4 learning styles visual, audio, tactile and kinetic; the tactile and kinetic learner often gets left out. This class will create an Empowering (positive outlook all the time), Passionate (always willing, helpful and enthusiastic), Innovative (spontaneous thinker) Citizen (a model mentor to others)!
I love talking, which is why I made it my profession; I also have a diploma in Business Set-Up and I look forward to passing these skills on to your learner.
WARNING: Again I say, I am a very silly goose!
