In this ongoing group class, we will meet once each week. We will learn such themes as the following: • Greetings • Spanish alphabet • Vowels (las vocales en español) • Colors The class order will be as follows: We will begin each class singing a Spanish welcoming song I will then go over our vocabulary of the day I will use graphics and puppets and other visual aids to help with the student's understanding of the vocabulary. In this class, the students will learn the basics of Spanish. I will begin with the correct pronunciation of the vowels in Spanish, which is fundamental in pronouncing the words correctly. We will learn new vocabulary every class time, beginning with greetings, colors, numbers, names of animals, family members, etc. Students will learn through the use of songs, rhymes, graphics, puppets, games, and worksheets to keep the classes fun and engaging.
I have been speaking Spanish for over thirty years, and I have had many years of experience teaching Spanish. I have over 20 years of experience teaching young children, including my own children, whom I homeschooled from K-4 through 12th grade. I have much experience translating into the Spanish language, including the translation of three published books into Spanish.
