My First Drama Acting Class With the Story Fairy
Learners can join the friendly Story Fairy to build their confidence, communication, and social skills by exploring Story Island using fun drama skills and our imaginations.

An excellent taster drama acting class, or for learners who already love drama and want to do more, or a fun, engaging way for learners to build their confidence, communication, and social skills. After a fun drama warm-up the Story Fairy and her pet dragon Smurkle will take learners on a fun, interactive journey to explore story island and the best bit is each learner will get a chance to decide what we do and where we go next. Will we visit the Pirate Ship, Whispering Woods, Butterfly Dell, the Princess' Tower, or the Lucky Lagoon maybe? and how we get there (wading through a swamp, swinging through the trees, or hopping across stepping stones)? As there is no wrong answer and the only limit is our imaginations the Story Fairy will encourage every learner to have their turn to tell us what we do next in the story, before we all explore using simple drama and acting techniques like mime, slow and fast motion, becoming creatures, making shapes with our hands etc. With the fully in-character, costumed Story Fairy to lead the story through fun engaging green screen backgrounds, learners will get to feel part of the story, and as each story is created as we go along learners are very welcome to take this class many, many times to create lots of different stories, with lots of different Story Explorers.

Parental Guidance
This is an active class so please make sure your learner is dressed so they can move around comfortably, make sure they also have adequate space where they won't bump into anything whilst we swim through a lagoon or climb a beanstalk, and a drink nearby in case they need it.

I am a fully qualified teacher (BAPA, PGCE) with 16+ years of experience teaching Drama, English, Music, PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health, and Citizenship education), and Performing Arts in bricks and mortar schools, where I currently still teach part-time. I also run small group confidence-building workshops and 1:1 tutoring sessions. I have many years of experience leading community workshop schemes (like 'create a play in a week') and local drama groups for ages 4 to 16 as well.
As a professional actress, I've performed for children from ages 2-14 in theatres, arts centres, social clubs, historical properties, nurseries, and schools. Playing roles such as the Gingerbread man and a tortoise, to a wartime headmistress and Queen Elizabeth the first! With lots of Q & A and interactive workshops along the way.
I then branched into presenting (live, events, radio, some TV, and for holiday companies across Europe) including some Voiceover work. I currently create and present drama and presenter tuition videos and have a regular podcast.
I have produced and directed many productions (musicals and plays) as well, including some I have written myself.
I am a Mummy to two young kids myself too, in fact, that is how the 'Story Fairy' was born!
